Case Problem: Ps4 Controller not Charging, Flex Cable Replacement
Situation:
A customer brought in a PS4 controller that wasn’t charging. After asking a few questions, they mentioned they had previously opened the controller themselves to replace the analog sticks — and the charging issue started right after that.
Task:
Identify the cause of the charging failure and restore normal charging function.
Action:
I connected the controller to a charging cable,

and the light bar showed no response at all, no sign of charging, no response at all, meaning the controller wasn’t receiving any power.
I opened the controller to inspect the internal connections, and at first glance, noticed the charging port’s flex cable was torn

likely damaged accidentally during the customer’s earlier repair.
I replaced the damaged flex cable with a new one to test the fix

Result:
After reassembly, the controller charged normally with no issues.

the light bar responded correctly, confirming the charging function was fully restored✅
